Bordeaux From the Balmoral

BordeauxFrom Rouen, our first stop on this cruise, we made our way to the picturesque port of Bordeaux, a charming French city located approximately 71 nautical miles from the pilot station on the Garonne River. The Balmoral arrived at the port of Bordeaux just after midnight, accompanied by a gentle rainfall. In contrast to our daytime trip along the Seine River to Rouen, our journey along the Garonne River to Bordeaux was tranquil as we sailed through the river under the night sky.

The nighttime approach to the port offered a unique perspective of the river and the city. Even though I didn’t go ashore, simply gazing out from the ship allowed me to take in the breathtaking view of Bordeaux.

BordeauxAs the Balmoral left Bordeaux the following day and continued its journey, I found myself grateful for the opportunity to witness Bordeaux’s splendor from the comfort of the ship. I can’t wait to come back and explore the city on foot the next time we visit this beautiful port!

I enjoy the seas but I love the less demanding life in a farm more than anything else. While I find myself caught between personal life and work, I still manage to make time doing the one thing that I enjoy – BLOGGING.
