Kuya J Restaurant – Delicious Home-style Cooking

Yearning for some mouth-watering Filipino dish? Of course, nothing beats home-style cooking! So, if you are looking for someplace serving Filipino foods familiar to our taste buds, Kuya J Restaurant is the go-to place.

Originated in Cebu, Kuya J Restaurant conceptualized quality Filipino food and togetherness. Known as one of the best restaurants in the area, Kuya J has expanded its branches to strategic locations nationwide. Talking about quality food and mouth-watering dishes, there are a lot of reasons Kuya J Restaurant is a dining place to look for.

ATMOSPHERE

kuya j restaurantThe restaurant offers a relaxing ambiance incorporating bright lighting. What it’s like dining with family and friends in a home-like setting? All these interior look and feel are meant to create a family-friendly environment for its customers.

THE FOOD

The menu recreates Filipino classics we enjoyed through the years. This includes the most popular Filipino dishes such as sinigang, potchero, sisig, lumpia, dinuguan, and lechon baka to name a few.

RECOMMENDATION

To start your dining experience, you must go with Kuya J’s signature appetizer, Kuya J Grilled Scallops. The scallops were grilled and complemented with butter, cheese, and garlic. What you will immediately notice is the scallops’ grilled aroma. If scallops are too unfamiliar for your taste, a good substitute would be the Kuya J Lumpia Presko. The dish’s uniqueness lies in the use of a malunggay-infused wrapper and components such as crabmeat and bamboo shoots. While this dish has a fresh taste, don’t expect the food to be enough for more than two people. The given appetizers are worth the price taking into consideration the food serving and flavors.

As for the main course, the flavors are simply special. Let’s begin with the primary component of every Filipino meal, rice of course! The restaurant does not just offer plain rice on the menu. You have the savory option for a tastier dining experience with their rice toppings. Two of the most notable rice toppings are danggit rice and humbinagoongan rice platter. The danggit rice is mainly composed of fried rice and fried danggit complemented with oil and chives. If you are fond of bagoong, you should try the humbinagoongan rice platter. The dish is mainly composed of fried rice, bagoong, and pork humba.

To complement the delicious rice, two of my recommended protein dishes are the Kuya J Crispy Pata and Pochero Bulalo Tagalog. The Crispy Pata is a classic favorite among Filipinos. There are two components that people look forward to when eating this dish and these are crispy skin and tender juicy meat. As you bite the crispy skin and tender meat, you will surely want more of it. Meanwhile, the Pochero Bulalo has a savory taste through its beef, tomato-flavored soup, corn, Baguio beans, and saging na saba. To complete your dining experience, you should try their halo-halo desserts in assortments of flavor variants.

Dining out with the whole family or a bunch of friends? Kuya J Restaurant is one of the many places to be – trust me, it’s worth every penny spent. The dishes are reasonably priced considering the superb food our taste buds enjoy not to mention the pleasant dining ambiance and the staffs’ quality service.
