Planning to travel in 2022? Although the world’s response to the pandemic has already eased and many people started going back to what their “new normal” allows, we’ve technically entered a new era that’s split between the old and the new—for better and for worse. So, with that in mind, here are some essential travel tips worth considering if you’re planning to embark on some travel adventure this time of the year:
To vaccinate or not to vaccinate
The topic of inoculation can be a controversial one and not something you would always see being recommended. But at a time when modern vaccine in response to the coronavirus is taken as a pass to most establishments, those who tend to travel on the beaten path will, more likely than not, be pressed to take their shot. This is not to say that every enterprise that remains standing to this day follows such a strict protocol. However, they do exist and are something you might come across in places.
The question therefore is—will you vaccinate and gain full theoretical accommodation to establishments or not to and thereby choose the commercial world to a lesser extent or go off-the-beaten paths to explore and experience instead?
Wear your face mask
When going out implies seeing other people wearing masks, you will be forgiven to think that we now live in the era of ninjas. But kidding aside, the act of donning protective masks has indeed become a norm that it is hard to come across individuals that do not have them on their faces. That is because the culprit to the pandemic, as they say, is airborne by nature, which demands that we limit our exposure to it as much as possible.
Areas of excursion
It is hard to venture off into the world without seeing the repercussions caused by the pandemic. Whether it is the smaller population of people flocking in places or the remnants of commercial enterprises that fail to survive the constraints of the pandemic, an excursion on the path more traveled may not be the same. But while that is sad, it also presents a new opportunity to discover the world through its less visited locations. How about pursuing that hike you’ve been planning to have or enjoying the shore at some remote areas with few people?
Consider going on a “workcation”
The ability to travel while you work was previously a perk only some people have. Nowadays, when the work-from-home setup has become a trend, you can also bring your work with you wherever you are, not just at home. Although the idea kind of beats the purpose of doing your job at the confines of home, it does not have to be when you consider the concept as something just synonymous to being remote from the traditional work office setup. But, hey, when you’re putting in the hours and effort to get something done, regardless of wherever you are, that counts as working, right?
The onset of the pandemic has brought with it unprecedented implications many people would otherwise regard as science fiction. But the effects of the COVID-19—which is still ongoing—can be all too real and affects many aspects of our lives, including travel. But if you are really too excited for your next travel adventure, go for it with safety in mind. ENJOY!!!
