We are now sailing towards Honningsvag, our next port in Norway after leaving Kristiansund and we are arriving Honningsvag tomorrow at noon.
Yesterday, we did a lot of scenic cruising. We passed by Torghatten or Hat Mountain, the Seven Sisters, crossed the Arctic Circle then in the afternoon we were at the best view point of the Black Glacier, or Svarstesin Glacier, the second largest of Norway’s glaciers. The name Svartisen comes from the old Norwegian word “svartis”, which denotes the deep blue color of the ice, and the contrast of the white snow and newer ice on the ice plateau.
After enjoying the spectacular view of the glacier, we head to the Trollfjord and we arrived there by midnight.
One of the many things about Norway that I truly enjoy is how the Norwegian weather can be so charming. Even under dark clouds hovering the skies, the landscape simply blends in and transform the scenery into another fantastic view. In Norway, whatever the weather is, we’ll always get amazing sights!
