The ship is in the port of Guayaquil, Ecuador. The port is dedicated to handling cargo ships. Though it mainly serves in the operation of loading and discharging cargoes from freight vessels, the port also caters to the operational needs of cruise vessels visiting Guayaquil.
During our port visit, shuttle buses running between the ship to the city were arranged, so it’s not that difficult to get to the city considering we’re at a cargo port and not on a cruise terminal.
When you are in Guayaquil, don’t miss meeting the iguanas. They roam around the park along with humans. Trust me, iguanas don’t bite.
This was my second visit to Guayaquil. I was here some times 10 years ago when I was onboard the cruise ship Black Watch. Unfortunately, I lost all photos I had during that visit. Thanks to my shipmate Jack for sharing a few of his priced Guayaquil photos – the Guayaquil Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana de Guayaquil) and these adorable iguanas.
Guayaquil Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana de Guayaquil) reminds me of the iron church near Recto and Quiapo in Manila, the San Sebastian Church.
