After spending 3 nights in New York, I flew to the Bahamas to join my assigned vessel, the cruise ship Balmoral. Just as the plane was on its approach preparation to land in Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport (formerly Nassau International Airport), I could see the island’s striking white sand beaches from above. No doubt, it’s a holiday destination!
As there were 3 other jets have landed almost at the same time, there was a slight queu build-up at the immigration clearance zone. So it took me a while to get past clear with the Bahamas Immigration. Once cleared, I claimed my checked luggage and continued my way to the meets and greet area where the agent that would take me to the ship was waiting.
Who would not notice this towering art work at the meets and greet area? It’s called Tall Wooden Family Statue. I could not take this home so why not stand by the statue and have some photo.
Beach, casino, parties – you have everything under the sun here! Bahamas is a major cruise port destination. With Nassau being the island’s main city, it is a busy port enjoying cruise ship visits whole year round.
Welcome to Nassau!
