From Funchal, we sailed further South towards the Canary Islands. The first port in the Canaries is Santa Cruz, Tenerife. As always, Balmoral’s assigned berth in Tenerife is the South Pier, about 10 to 20 minutes walk to the city center.
To those who want to shell out some Euros out from their wallet, taxis are available at the quayside. But I highly suggest going downtown on foot. Trust me, you will enjoy your walk – you’ll arrive into the town center without even realizing it.
The best way to explore the city is through hop-on / hop-off sight seeing buses. For approximately Euros 16, you’ll get to visit the city’s point of interests conveniently. From the port info we received onboard, sharing here the hop-on / hop -off sight seeing bus itinerary. Haven’t done this myself yet but I believe this is the fastest and most economical way to explore the city:
Stop 1 – Plaza De Espana
Stop 2 – Mercado Nuestra Spa. De Africa
Stop 3 – Puerto Crucero (nearest stop from the cruise terminal)
Stop 4 – Cuartel De Almeida
Stop 5 – Ayuntamiento De Santa Cruz De Tenerife
Stop 6 – Parque Garcia Sanabria
Stop 7 – Rambla De Santa Cruz
Stop 8 – Plaza De Pedro Schwartz
Stop 9 – Auditorio y Centro De Ferias y Congresos
Stop 10 – El Corte Ingles
Stop 11 – Estacion De Guaguas
Ship will set sail tonight heading to Arrecife, Lanzarote, our second and last port in the Canary Islands for this cruise.
