Exploring Tagaytay in One Day: A Guide to a Relaxed-Pace Trip

Hey there! If you’re planning a one day trip to Tagaytay but you’re not sure where to go or how to make the most of your time? Don’t worry, I’ve got some tips to help you out!

Tagaytay is a breathtaking city that’s located just a short distance away from Manila, making it the perfect destination for a quick out-of-town trip. And the best part? It’s super affordable to get there.

I recently went to Tagaytay with my son, and let me tell you, although we only had one day to explore we had a blast! Even though we only had one day, we still managed to take in some of the best sights and attractions at a relaxed pace.

If you’re wondering how to get to Tagaytay, the most cost-effective way is by bus. Depending on your location in Manila, you can hop on a bus from Buendia. We went on a Saturday and didn’t experience much traffic. Our bus departed from Pasay at 8:00 AM and we arrived in Tagaytay two hours later.

Sky Ranch

First Stop: Sky Ranch
Our first stop was Sky Ranch, which boasts stunning views of the city and its surroundings. To get there from the bus drop-off point at SM Tagaytay, we opted for a tricycle ride. Although it was a bit more expensive, it got us to our destination quickly. You can also take a jeepney instead and save some money.

Sky Ranch is a popular amusement park located in Tagaytay City, Philippines. It is situated on a 5-hectare property overlooking the Taal Lake and Volcano. The park features various rides and attractions for visitors of all ages, such as the Sky Eye Ferris wheel, Super Viking, Sky Cruiser, and Flying Bus. It also has a wide selection of food and beverage outlets, as well as souvenir shops. Sky Ranch is a great place to visit for families and friends who want to have a fun and exciting day out in Tagaytay.

Second Stop: People’s Park in the Sky
From Sky Ranch, we took a jeepney going to the jeepney terminal and took another jeepney ride taking us to People’s Park in the Sky.

People’s Park in the Sky is a historical park located in Tagaytay, Philippines. It was originally built as a mansion for former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos but was later converted into a park after his downfall. The park is situated on top of a hill and offers panoramic views of the surrounding areas, including Taal Volcano and Taal Lake. Visitors can explore the park’s various attractions, such as the giant cross, the view deck, and the ruins of the mansion. The park is also a popular spot for hiking and nature walks.

TagaytayThird Stop: Crosswinds
Crosswinds is a vast residential and leisure community featuring a Swiss-inspired landscape with over 20,000 pine trees. It has become one of the top weekend destinations in Tagaytay, where visitors can also enjoy staycation options, restaurants, cafés, specialty shops, and more.

With NAPA and Ruined Project as its main attractions. NAPA is inspired by the scenic wine region of Napa Valley, California, and boasts a hillside vineyard atmosphere with a magnificent mountain valley view. Ruined Project was originally meant to be the 50th store of the well-known The Coffee Project café. However, with the pandemic’s impact, it took a different direction and has become a popular weekend spot, drawing in many visitors.

Fourth Stop: Starbucks Reserve Hiraya
Starbucks Reserve Hiraya is a unique coffee house located in Tagaytay. Hiraya, which means “dream” in Filipino, is a tribute to the hardworking coffee farmers who share the dream of producing high-quality coffee beans. The coffee shop features a modern and cozy interior with a breathtaking view of Taal Lake, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy your coffee.

What sets Starbucks Reserve Hiraya apart from other Starbucks stores is that it exclusively serves rare and premium coffee blends that are sourced from different parts of the world. The coffee beans are roasted in small batches to ensure that they are at their freshest and most flavorful when served.
In addition to their premium coffee blends, Starbucks Reserve Hiraya also offers a unique food menu that features both local and international dishes. Some of their bestsellers include the Adobo Flakes and Garlic Rice Bowl, Beef Tapa and Eggs, and the Spinach and Feta Tart.

Overall, Starbucks Reserve Hiraya is a must-visit for coffee lovers and foodies who want to experience a unique and elevated Starbucks experience in Tagaytay.

I can say that our trip to Tagaytay was a wonderful experience. The scenic beauty of the place, along with the refreshing environment, made it an ideal destination for a weekend getaway. I would highly recommend a visit to Tagaytay to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating break from the hustle and bustle of city life.
