Lolo Mateo’s Seafood and Grill: A Home Away From Home Restaurant

Wherever we go and everywhere we go around Cebu, it’s not hard to find restaurants or carenderias. I traveled to Sibonga, Cebu yesterday and I found this restaurant where I had lunch. It’s called Lolo Mateo’s Seafood and Grill, a homely restaurant just along the highway. The name itself already tells us what kind of food they served. Just think about those all time sea favorites – kinilaw, tinola and sinugba – you’ll find it all there, fresh and yummy.Lolo Mateo's Seafood and GrillI mentioned homely because the place has that familiar homely vibe. The ambience feels like home and I think this kind of place is what typical Filipino would want to hung out to.

But Lolo Mateo’s is not just all about seafoods, because they also serve other popular Filipino dishes. They have sisig, balbacua, tinolang bisayang manok (native chicken), lumpia shanghai and a lot more mouth watering menu.

Lolo Mateo’s Seafood and Grill has ample space to park cars. This is convenient for motorists passing Sibonga who would want to drop by for some food before continuing their long drive.

Hygiene
Worried about our safety during this pandemic time? Well, that’s the last thing we should start to worry about at Lolo Mateo’s. The place has hand washing area where a staff has his eye on you monitoring whether you wash hands or not. Then just before you are allowed to get inside, you have to log in a monitoring book where your temperature is also checked.

At Lolo Mateo’s Seafood and Grill, eating out with family or friends feels we are just dining at home. It’s a home-away-from-home dining experience worth trying out in Sibonga.

Location and Contact
Lolo Mateo’s Seafood and Grill is located in Brgy. Candaguit, Sibonga. They can be reached at 09173118076.

Budget Tips:

Satisfy your cravings but don’t over indulge. This means when you are in front of several of your most favorite dishes, don’t think you can eat all of them altogether at once. Just pick only one or two of your favorites. If you order more, it’s most likely, large portion of the food you ordered will end up in the bin.
